Get ready to roll, walk or run!!! Stroke and brain injury survivors, families, friends and supporters, you’re invited to join us for the 7th annual Brain Injury Awareness Walk.

Presented by NeuroRestorative Georgia, the Walton Foundation for Independence and the Brain Injury Association of Georgia, the annual event brings together brain injury survivors, their families, medical and therapy staff and others, joining together in their bright blue shirts to make a statement that brain injury–so often an invisible injury–needs to be acknowledged.

In addition, the walk benefits the Augusta Brain Injury Support Group, which meets on the second Thursday of every month at NeuroRestorative Georgia, 2501 Center West Pkwy. The group connects families and local survivors to create a powerful support network, and features social activities, education and more.

Funds raised send local survivors to Camp Hardgrove, a four-day overnight summer camp for adults with stroke and brain injury. Based at Camp Will-O-Way in Winder, Ga., the camp focuses on providing social and recreational opportunities in a safe, medically supervised environment. Camp Hardgrove is a program of the Brain Injury Association of Georgia, which provides community support programs for individuals and families throughout the state. Last year, with your help, we were able to send 12 local campers!

Registration is $20 ($10 for brain injury survivors), and includes a T-shirt and lunch. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Vellotones, featuring NeuroRestorative Medical Director Dr. John Rigg.
